Open letter to President Barack Obama
Dear Mr. President,
I am an American citizen of Somali descent, an unaffiliated voter who also happens be in your e-mail list, and you Mr. President, the first lady, the vice president, the DNC and many other Democratic Party officials’ e-mails are regularly finding their way into my inbox.
Allow me Mr. President to pick a bone with you as it regards to the genocide against the civilians in Mogadishu. Somalia.
Al-shabab is undoubtedly a terrorist group, and is partially responsible for the deteriorating situation in Mogadishu, but there are not the only terrorists in Somalia.
The worst terrorists in Somalia are the Ugandan and Abyssinian troops who Are not in Mogadishu to fight the insurgents, but to savagely massacre the Innocent, non- combatant civilians, the women, children and old folks
Mr. President why on earth would you keep propping up the worst dictators In Africa? Why would you give Billions of dollars so badly needed by the struggling American single mothers and the unemployed Millions of Americans to the Tyrants of Uganda and Abyssinia, whose only wish is to starve their own people and mercilessly murder innocent civilians in Mogadishu.
They are continuously and persistently committing genocide against the already devastated, poor and defenseless civilians of the god forsaken, down Trodden city of Mogadishu, and trust me Mr. President any level headed Person knows how a peacekeeping force should behaves, those whose peace is kept live it, the other concerned parties and those with stakes in the matter feel when a peace is kept, and the African troops in Mogadishu are in no way trying to keep a peace or even slightly take into account the safety and the well being of the civilians in Mogadishu.
For the last ten days alone hundreds of civilians were massacred, majority of them by heavy and sustained, intentional, indiscriminate shelling of the African troops who as reported never bothered to strike the al-shabab positions half a kilometer away.
Those African troops would rather mercilessly commit genocide against the Already devastated civilians of Mogadishu than to conventionally engage The al-shabab insurgents.
I am certain Mr. President, there are millions of American voters who are disappointed and disillusioned with how their tax dollars were sent to the likes of Ugandan and Abyssinian dictators to wage expansionist wars across Africa and commit genocide against un-armed civilians and with all due respect Mr. President that is no way to lead the greatest, most powerful nation on earth.
The united States economy is in shatters as a direct consequence of your action or lack thereof, millions of Americans lost their employment under your watch, and you are Mr. President sending billions of dollars that Should have been invested in the homeland to the aforementioned African Dictators. Mr. President, why is it you pay a lot of attention to such a tyrannical foreign countries and murderers? Do you realize Mr. President It is us, the American voters who elected you and not by those foreign Dictators?
Mr. President, the American people are demanding your full and undivided Attention to the problems here at the homeland, and I am certain millions of Americans would want you to please stop giving away their tax Dollars to those foreign warmongers and tyrants, and instead help our veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the unemployed Americans, the youth, the uninsured/underinsured and the single parents who are barely breaking even.
Mr. President, Please understand that the Billions of Dollars your Administration gives to Ugandan and Abyssinian dictators are causing Hundreds of civilian lives in Mogadishu every week and the African troops in Mogadishu and elsewhere in Somalia are unwittingly showing off their Military prowess and it so happens that they have your unequivocal consent to strike civilians at will, and are fully aware of your diplomatic, financial and Military giveaways, and as such do not feel constrains, and are therefore exploiting your excellence’s indifference to the plight of the victimized Civilians.
Your excellence’ collusion in facilitating the Ugandan and Abyssinian tyrants’ genocide in Mogadishu will forever be remembered, as you will undoubtedly have a dark spot in the history books, but Mr. President it is never too late to correct a wrong or heal a wound.
An American author by the name Gregory Winger once said: In matters of war, America must be wary of an ally who greets her with a beggar’s hand. This is the case with Ethiopia and its involvement in the war on terror.
It is assuredly crystal clear that the tyrants of Uganda and Abyssinia along with the al-shabab terrorists are hell-bent to commit atrocities against the civilians in Somalia, and in Mogadishu in particular. The daily indiscriminate shelling of the innocent Somali inhabitants of Mogadishu by both the insurgents and the African forces are intolerable act of savagery, a crime against humanity, is unacceptable and uncalled for to say least. It’s a genocide not only sanctioned b y the so-called international community, but it’s undoubtedly being ordered by same international community. It’s a daily massacre orchestrated equally by Abyssinia and Ugandan dictators, funded by your administration Mr. President and I have no doubt that the resources you so willingly spend in these misdeeds should have been invested more wisely here at home.
